Honest.Education — For Parents
Your child wrote every word.
What if no one believes them?
AI false flags are happening to honest students. A student who wrote their entire essay themselves can be accused of using AI by a detector that is wrong 30% of the time. Until now, there has been no standard way for a student to prove otherwise.

According to College Transitions, Wesleyan University's policy states: "A candidate's personal statement must be their own work… If it is determined that an applicant received inappropriate assistance with the application essays, candidacy will be compromised and/or admission rescinded."

The problem is not that your child used AI. The problem is that there is currently no standard, portable, trusted way for an honest student to prove they did not. Until now.
Honest.Education gives them proof that exists before anyone asks
When your child certifies their essay through Honest.Education, they receive a unique H-number. It is printed on a certified document and permanently listed in our verification database.
They include that certification evidencing the H-number with every college application. If an admissions reader ever has a question, they can verify it instantly. No back-and-forth. No accusations. Just documented proof.
The H-number does not change what your child wrote. It proves it was theirs.
You have already spent $4,000 on the essay
Parents of competitive-college applicants routinely spend $3,500 to $7,500 on essay coaching, tutoring, and test prep. That investment is in the essay. The certification protects it.
Multiple sessions, revisions, strategy
SAT/ACT courses and tutoring
Proof the essay is theirs
You spent $4,000 on an essay coach. Spend $399 to prove the essay is actually your child's.
An academic standard. Not a tech gimmick.
Honest.Education is not another detection tool. It is a certification standard developed by an independent academic authority.

"This is not a technology product. It is an academic standard. Every student who submits their honest work deserves the chance to prove it. As a university writing professor with a PhD from Purdue, I've seen false positives and false negatives from AI screening tools. Protect your child's future and give enrollment officers what they need to trust your child's application."
Things we want every parent to know
We are not accusing your child of anything
Certification is for honest students. The whole point is to create documented proof that the work was theirs. We start from the assumption that it was.
We are not anti-AI
We take no position on AI tools in general. We simply give students who chose to write their own essays a way to prove it.
Your child's data is protected
We collect only what the certification requires — your student's name, date of birth, and the essay text — and store it securely. The essay is pasted as raw text and never sent to a generative AI model. Admissions officers verify a certification by entering both the H-number and the student's last name; the public lookup returns only what they need to confirm authenticity: the student's name, the date certified, the first paragraph of the certified essay, and the attestor's name and relationship to the student. The full essay is never retrievable through the database.
No guarantee of admission
We certify authenticity. Nothing more. We will never tell you this improves your child's chances. What we can say is: an honest student deserves the right to prove their work is honest.
Protect your child's honest work.
Certification takes minutes. Peace of mind lasts through every application deadline.
