As Certification Authority for Honest.Education, Dr. McGrady oversees the academic standards and methodology that govern every certification. She brings the credibility of the academic world to what has until now been a purely technological debate.
"This is not a technology product," Dr. McGrady has stated. "It is an academic standard. The question of whether an essay is honest is ultimately a human judgment. The H-number is how we document that judgment in a way that travels with the student."
Dr. McGrady collaborates with an independent certification board to review and evolve the standards used in the certification process. All methodology is reviewed on an ongoing basis as the academic landscape changes.

Humanable is an independent certification standard for human-created content. It was developed with academic rigor, not commercial convenience. The standard defines what counts as human authorship, how it is verified, and what documentation must exist for a certification to stand.
Independent oversight
The Humanable standard is governed independently of the certification service. This separation matters. It means the standard is not changed to serve commercial interests. It evolves to serve academic integrity.
Methodology
The certification process combines algorithmic analysis, sworn attestation, and documented chain of custody. No single component is the certification. The combination of all three is what the H-number certifies.
Versioned oath standard
The sworn attestation text is versioned. Every certificate records which version of the oath was signed, so the standard can evolve while every historical certification remains fully documented.
